Anderson Silva would rather retire than fight training buddies Lyoto Machida and Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza |Anderson Silva has always been open about the fact he has no desire to face any of his close training partners, and his stance will likely never change.

Some MMA fans would love to see Silva square up against Lyoto Machida and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, two of Anderson’s pals who are now poised to do big things in the UFC’s middleweight champion, sometime in the future, but I wouldn’t recommend holding your breath.

While UFC President Dana White insists there’s still a possibility mixed martial arts fans will eventually get their wish, Silva’s take on the matter is the complete opposite.

“I’ve already said it, and I’ll say it again: Lyoto and myself, we are brothers,” Silva declared. “Jacare and myself, we are friends, camp friends. We have a code of honor amongst ourselves, which is that we don’t fight against ourselves, regardless of wins or losses, money, fame or not. So, I would give up fighting, if necessary, if I had to fight against Lyoto.”
