Strikeforce: Rousey Vs Kaufman Results

Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman wasn’t exactly a star-studded event, but it turned out to be a very entertaining fight card. Miesha Tate and Julie Kedzie put on an instant classic, while “Jacare” shocked many MMA fans with his first KO victory. Here are the results of the Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman fight card held on Aug. 18, at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, Calif:

Ronda Rousey defeats Sarah Kaufman

Rousey successfully defended the Strikeforce women’s bantamweight title, quickly taking Kaufman to the ground and securing an armbar. It took her only 54 seconds. After the fight, Rousey stated her desire to fight Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos.

Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza defeats Derek Brunson

Souza didn’t waste any time against Brunson, sending him to the canvas with a big right hand. He followed up with a salvo of punches, forcing referee Mike Beltran to stop the fight 42 seconds into the first round.

Tarec Saffiedine defeats Roger Bowling

This was a very entertaining bout between two skilled strikers. Both men landed their share of decent strikes, but Saffiedine was a bit more effective. “The Sponge” also did a good job utilizing his grappling skills, getting some decent ground-and-pound done at the end of the final round. All three judges scored the fight 30-27 in favor of Saffiedine.

Anthony Smith defeats Lumumba Sayers

Sayers got off to a good start at Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman, but he made a huge mistake when he decided to jump into Smith’s guard. “Lionheart” quickly locked up a triangle choke, forcing Sayers to tap with about a minute left in the first round.

Ovince St. Preux defeats T.J. Cook

Both men came out swinging, but OSP landed the first big shot in the fight. However, Cook showed a lot of grit, and he took all the punishment OSP was able to dish out, eventually turning the tables, landing some big shots of his own. OSP continued his assault in the second round, and he sealed the deal early in the third round, putting Cook to sleep with a vicious left hook.

Germaine de Randamie defeats Hiroko Yamanaka (unanimous decision)

Bobby Green defeats Matt Ricehouse (unanimous decision)
