UFC 131 predictions

The UFC 131 MMA fight event featuring Brock Lesnar and Junior Dos Santos has all the makings of an entertaining fight card. The event is stacked with many big name MMA fighters like Kenny Florian, who will be making his debut in the featherweight division. Here are my predictions for the UFC 131 MMA fight card.

Brock Lesnar versus Junior dos Santos

This is a tough MMA fight for Brock Lesnar who is coming off a loss to UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez. Junior has a similar style to Velasquez, something Lesnar had problems dealing with in his last MMA fight. However, Lesnar is the only MMA fighter to defeat UFC knockout expert Shane Carwin, and he’ll find a way to get past Dos Santos. Lesnar wins by TKO.

Kenny Florian versus Diego Nunes

Many MMA fans like me can’t wait to watch Kenflo’s first fight in the featherweight division. Kenny should have no problems working his way up the featherweight ladder, and eventually getting a shot at current UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo. Kenny Florian wins by submission.

Shane Carwin versus Jon Olav Einemo

Carwin would be the UFC champion, if he didn’t gas out against Brock Lesnar. Carwin will look to make a strong statement against Einemo, and work his way towards another title shot. Carwin wins by TKO.

Demian Maia versus Mark Munoz

Mark Munoz will have the toughest test of his MMA career, when he goes up against Brazilian Jiu Jitsu specialist Damian Maia. Unfortunately for Munoz, Maia’s submission skills will be too much for him to handle and he will eventually get caught. Maia wins by submission.

Donald Cerrone versus Mac Danzig

This should be a very entertaining MMA fight as Cerrone goes for his second UFC win. Mac Danzig might have written a check he can’t cash, when he called Cerrone out, and he’ll have to pay for it with his face. Cerrone wins by KO.
