UFC 138 Results

There weren’t that many big-names on the UFC 138 fight card, but it still turned out to be a very entertaining event. Here are the results of the UFC 138 fight card, held on Nov. 5 at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England.

Mark Munoz defeats Chris Leben

After going back and forth in the first round, Munoz started building up some momentum in the second round, opening a nasty cut around Leben’s eye. Leben claimed he wasn’t able to see out of his eye, forcing the referee to stop the fight after the second round. After the fight, Munoz respectfully asked for a shot at current middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

Renan “Barao” do Nascimento Mota Pegado defeats Brad Pickett

Both MMA fighters came out hard in the first round, exchanging solid shots with one another. Towards the end of the first round, Renan send Pickett to the canvas with a knee, jumping on his back during the ensuing scramble and finishing the MMA fight with a rear-naked choke.

Thiago Alves defeats Papy Abedi

Abedi’s decision to stand up with Thiago cost him big at UFC 138. After exchanging blows in the opening moments of the MMA fight, Thiago eventually caught Abedi with a barrage of punches, sending him to the canvas with a big right hook. Thiago immediately went to work with some vicious ground-and-pound before finishing the MMA fight via rear-naked choke.

Anthony Perosh defeats Cyrille Diabate

A classic grappler vs. striker matchup, Diabate was able to keep the MMA fight standing for a majority of the first round. The second round was completely different, as Perosh quickly secured the takedown and went to work. To his credit, Diabate fought off a few submissions before Perosh eventually locked up a rear-naked choke.

Terry Etim defeats Eddie Faaloloto

Etim wasted no time against Faaloloto, charging at him with some vicious punches and kicks. Faaloloto tried to avoid the barrage by taking the MMA fight to the ground, but Etim made him pay with a guillotine choke that forced him to tap-out 17 seconds into the fight.


John Maguire defeats Justin Edwards (unanimous decision)

Philip De Fries defeats Rob Broughton (unanimous decision)

Michihiro Omigawa defeats Jason Young (unanimous decision)

Che Mills defeats Chris Cope (TKO, round one)

Chris Cariaso defeats Vaughan Lee (split decision)
