UFC 168 set: Silva-Weidman, Rousey-Tate rematches

Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva have both signed their names down for a December 28th UFC 168 showdown at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The contracts were signed and the fight scheduled a week after Chris Weidman sparked Anderson Silva out in round 2 of an exciting 5 round UFC Middleweight title fight.

In his post-fight interview, Anderson Silva declared his career to be near the end, he noted the title “had changed hands” and his title tun was over. A change of heart clearly occurred — and quickly after as well.

Silva is known for his mind blowing reflexes, amazing striking skills and Jiu-Jitsu. Face it: there is no more shooting down his title cravings. He wants to reset his empathic UFC Middleweight back to when he was at his very best — snapping the dreams of the elite and holding the title for a record long 16 consecutive defenses.

Weidman, 29, is nearly his very peak. He’s got some decent wins to Damian Maia, Tom Lawlor, Alessio Sakara, and Mark Munoz. The brutal KO of Silva surely sticks out on his highlight reel. Can he repeat — or will Silva exact his revenge?

It was also announced that in the co-feature armbar specialist Ronda Rousey will look to win her own rematch against female fighting craze Miesha Tate! Tate is coming off a stoppage loss to Cat Zigano in a 3 round war.

More undercard info will be released soon.
