UFC Fight Night 68 Predictions

MMA legend Dan Henderson will try to prove to his fans that he still has a little left in his tank when he headlines the UFC Fight Night 68 card with Tim Boetsch. The event is set for June 6, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Here are my UFC Fight Night 68 predictions:

Dan Henderson vs. Tim Boetsch

Henderson (30-13-0, 14 KOs) seems to be in the last days of his MMA career, losing five of his last six fights. His only win was a come-from-behind victory against Mauricio Rua, when one of his patented H-Bombs found its mark. Prior to the punch landing, Henderson was on the receiving end of a vicious beating that was almost stopped a few times.

Boetsch (18-8-0, 8 KOs) hasn’t been doing much better lately, and his level of competition hasn’t been as high as Henderson’s. However, Boetsch packs serious power in his hands, and I can’t see Henderson walking through hard shots at this point in his career.

Prediction: Tim Boetsch wins via KO.

Ben Rothwell vs. Matt Mitrione

Matt has looked pretty awesome inside the Octagon lately, racking up three consecutive victories. His victory against Derrick Lewis was particularly impressive. Rothwell (34-9-0, 20 KOs) has also enjoyed some success recently, knocking out Alistair Overeem and Brandon Vera.

It’s hard to see this fight going the distance.

Mitrione (9-3-0, 8 KOs) has made lots of improvements in his striking, turning into one of the most entertaining knockout artists in the UFC’s heavyweight division. Rothwell also has heavy hands, and he should have a slight edge in the wrestling department.

Mitrione did a good job of protecting himself during his fight against Lewis, and I expect him to do the same against Rothwell before landing something big.

Prediction: Matt Mitrione wins via KO.
