UFC on Fuel TV 5 Results

Finishes were abundant at “UFC on Fuel TV 5,” with only two of the six main card fights requiring the services of the judges. Here are the results of the UFC on Fuel TV 5 fight card held on Sept. 29, at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England:

Stefan Struve def. Stipe Miocic

Miocic landed the cleaner punches during the first round, but Struve turned things around in the second. “Skyscraper” hurt Miocic with a big uppercut, and he followed it up with a barrage of big shots, forcing referee Herb Dean to stop the fight.

Dan Hardy def. Amir Sadollah

Hardy seemed a little tentative during the first round of their UFC on Fuel TV 5 encounter, but he opened up during the latter rounds, repeatedly connecting with his left hook. Hardy also mixed in a few takedowns, cruising to the unanimous decision.

Brad Pickett def. Yves Jabouin

Both men came out swinging, and for a moment, it looked like Jabouin was landing the cleaner strikes. However, Pickett caught Jabouin with a right uppercut, knocking the Canadian out cold.

Matt Wiman def. Paul Sass

Wiman handed Sass his first professional MMA loss at UFC on Fuel TV 5, beating the BJJ specialist at his own game. Paul took the fight to the canvas early in the contest, and he landed some decent shots on the ground. Wiman eventually caught Sass’ arm, and he locked in an armbar, forcing the Brit to tap at the 3:48 mark of the first round.

John Hathaway def. John Maguire

Hathaway added another win to his resume at UFC on Fuel TV 5, dominating his encounter against Maguire. Hathaway controlled the action throughout the fight, besting Maguire on the feet and on the ground. All three judges scored the fight in favor of Hathaway, 30-27.

Che Mills def. Duane Ludwig

Mills took the fight to the ground early in the opening round, softening Ludwig up with some decent shots. Ludwig worked his way back up, but he fell down awkwardly shortly after. Duane immediately pointed to his left knee, prompting referee Herb to step in and stop the fight.
